No Headliner Retreat in U Lesa

This was the first in a series of independent songwriting camps. We brought 12 artists to the mountains on the outskirts of Hanoi for three days to write, collaborate, and see what would happen.

Vibe

We've spent a lot of time thinking about how songwriting camps should work in Vietnam, since it's still an unfamiliar concept here. After talking with our friend Jace from Songtaew Sync in Bangkok—thank you, Jace—we had a rough framework in mind and simply went for it.

A big reason it worked so well was because everyone already knew each other. The artists were friends with us, and with the project, so the three days felt natural from the very beginning. We wrote songs, shared ideas, and had an incredible amount of fun.

We're already planning the next one. If you're interested in writing with some of Vietnam's most exciting underground talents, we'd love to hear from you.
